Torches

This is exactly what being 2-and-a-half and 4-and-a-quarter is all about. Being allowed to play with the "guest torches", creeping upstairs and then peering out of the window to try to spy "Mrs.Billington going to church", "The sheep eating the grass" and "The farmer poo-ing on the fields" (because, contrary to popular belief, according to Milo and Summer that is what causes a certain smell in the countryside).

It's been a tip top sunny spring day. For the first time Summer joined Milo at Crosthwaite School as they both stayed for lunch and afternoon play. The sight of the two wee tots brandishing their wobbly trays to the proper-dinner-lady melted my heart (it was then rapidly re-set by the realisation that my children were the only ones using dirty fingers instead of cutlery...oops).

This afternoon was spent having a sort-of-picnic in the garden with a lovely visit from friend Lindsay and her gorgeous almost-new daughter Emily. Followed by a sunny run to birdsong up on Whitbarrow.

Today's entry is brought to you by the character "-", half a bottle of champagne, no guests and little sleep!

I thank you.
