The Crimson Petal and the White

Started a stonker of a book today. Over 800 pages. I did start to read this one about 3 years ago, but I put it down for some reason about a third of the way through and left it too long to pick up again. I've been *slightly* prompted to start it again by the news that there is a television series of it on soon. I want to read the story before I have the danger of spoilers from people who've seen the series.

Notable things about this book: the paper is high quality and very white. This makes it awfully heavy - far heavier than the paperback of Wolf Hall, which is of a similar thickness.
