The largest Japanese-descended community outside Japan is in Brazil, especially in my town, São Paulo. More than 200,000 Japanese immigrants came here in the 20th century and made a remarkable contribution to the country. I would like to dedicate this picture to them and to the Japanese people, whose resilience and strength after the earthquake are an example for all of us.
