What came first

I love the boundaries on this field, such a mixture of iron railings, wooden railings, wire fences, bushes and the odd tree. The ironwork harks back to a far more affluent land-ownership, when the farmer could afford to use such things on a huge boundary, about half a mile. The tree obviously grew a bit after the iron was installed.
