Memories.
Yesterday our Senior Citizens Club went at the invitation of one of our local schools, Cradlehall Primary, to a presentation by P6/7 on The Second World War. We did'nt know what to expect but boy were we pleasantly surprised.
These children had done so much research and the assembly hall was set out as the living room of an imaginary Inverness house complete with period furniture and about 50 children in dress of the day with a lot of the ladies in thier turbans and the men with thier flat caps.
The presentation followed the lives of the family with the father and sons being called up and the telegram boy calling with the oft recieved bad news. This was interspersed with a choir singing the songs of the day, finishing of with"We'll Meet Again"
What a feast of memories fpr us "Wrinklies" and as V.P. of the club it fell to me to give the vote of thanks. I assumed that the Pupils would have seen an adults gas mask but as the childrens versions are few and far between, and the fact that I have both, I took along the "Mickey Mouse" as it was called to show.
Maybe my Blip for today will prompt more memories.
Have a peacefull weekend and take care of each other.
