No ..... the mind is wide open actually. A friend of mine is a dyed-in-the-wool landscape photographer. A few days ago she admitted that she might be in a slight rut ....... ( a slight rut??? ). So I set her a challenge. She had to take the ultra wide lens off the camera (if she can work out how to do that) and replace it with her 50mm f1.8 prime lens. Then she had to use that lens solely for a week ..... every day. I further restricted her by saying she had to use it between f2.8 and f1.8 only. Surprisingly she accepted the challenge and has produced some good stuff. She is even moving in closer to the subject so that the narrow focus comes into play. The 10mm will be back on the camera at the end of the week for sure, but I think she will be out of her rut and looking at things slightly differently. When I went out for the paper this morning I saw this sign. My first thought was ......."that is a bit subtle for todays youth".
