Play Area in Paris

We returned from Poland in mid-afternoon, not in the mood for an ambitious blip outing, so I just wandered down to the Place de l'Abbé-Georges-Hénocque at the bottom of our street, in Paris's 13th arrondissement.

The Place is a circular square, with this small play area in the center--impressively well equipped, as usual in Paris. In the background is a spire of St. Anne's Church on Rue Tolbiac--in a style reminiscent of Sacré Coeur in Montmartre (and doubtless also from the late 19th century).

The building on the right houses the mutual services of the national railway workers union (the cheminots)--it served as the backdrop for a gory assassination scene in a Canal + telefilm three weeks ago.
