Blossoms and thorns

The Poncirus trifoliata is in full bloom thanks to the good weather. The blossoms even have a faint nice smell I never noticed before - perhaps because the Poncirus had only three of them last year due to the harsh winter. It is said to tolerate frost to -25°, this is one of the reasons it is used as a rootstock for lemon and orange trees to make them hardier.
