......an essential component of Scout craft is to be skilled in the construction of useful structures for river fording and sheltering in the wilds. Tonight we taught the Scouts the basic skills of building with Jaffa Cakes and spaghetti. No need to explain the endless practical applications of those raw materials in pioneering.
A good night with the kids......the perfect antidote to a difficult work week. Also, our Scout Leader just confirmed that we have the green light for summer camp in Switzerland too.

Tomorrow I'm going walking with LLCoolJim, Jedi Jacob, Stig of the Dump and Mrs Scobes; I think a low level walk in the Manor Valley is called for. I also hope to collect my new fly fishing rod.....don't worry fish lovers, I'm without doubt the worst fisherman in christendom. The aquatic vertebrates are perfectly safe from me and my rod.
