Running the Gauntlet
State election today.
I usually like election days, and as we have compulsory voting in Australia everybody gets out and it is often a festive occasion. In a small town like Blackheath it's a chance to catch up with people you haven't seen since the last election.
Not so today. Grey weather; no sausage sizzle ; no cake stalls; no boot sales.
After incompetence, scandals and corruption the current Labor government will be thrown out in a landslide.
Fair enough, you might say, but that leaves people like me with no one to vote for.
Anyway, before voting one has to run the gauntlet of this group of people who are handing out how to vote pamphlets for their party.
About the most colour and enthusiasm I saw all day.
