Grandad!
This is Grandad. Don't worry this isn't some macabre photo of ashes or anything, it's my first attempt at a sourdough starter. It's named in honour of my grandad who was a master baker. I used the recipe in Fergus Henderson's excellent "Beyond Nose to Tail" book as a guide but used slightly more Rye flour. This is where the rhubarb from yesterday's blip ended up, along with flour, water and some live yogurt. I can't wait to make my first loaf from it next week.
