Smoke Me Kipper!
Busy weekend so far, starting Friday!
Finished work early on Friday to take Will to his next Taekwondo grading. He had to have a one to one grading as he couldn't make the group grading last Sunday due to having a football match. The grading was pretty intense with him being on his own. His instructor went through 'EVERYTHING' and there was no where to hide. We won't find out how he got on till Tuesday but we think it went well as the instructor told me he his doing techniques up to a standard three belts higher and asked me if he's so good at all sports! Made me very proud!
Had to leave there to go straight to his football training! The rock and roll lifestyle of being a father!
Got up early this morning as I then had to get him to a Basketball match for 8.45! I do think kids basketball is an odd set up! It's great exercise and a fun sport to play but It's basically under 13's level. That means anyone under the age of 13 can be in the team! Will's team is made up pretty much of 10 and 11 year olds but the team he played was full of 13 year olds that were all about a foot taller than anyone on our team! You can guess how it went but they tried their hardest. Will played well and marked his player out of the game which is all you could ask for really!
This afternoon we went to the forgemill in Redditch to a World War II exhibition. It wasn't great but got us out the house for a couple of hours. Will and his friend weren't really interested and played up a bit. Mrs L moaned she was cold but I got to play with my camera for a bit. Have to say although the exhibit wasn't great the volunteers did a great job in their uniforms and made the best of it. I just think the need to make these kind of things a little more interactive to inspire the kids.
Off out into Birmingham tonight for a friends birthday. Tepinyaki so should be fun. Not looking forward to the bad head in the morning as the clocks are going forward!
