Through the Woods
Climbing uphill through a slice of woods between the University of Washington and the 45th street Viaduct, I saw this building from its back and largely unseen side.
I truly enjoy what I call "leftover" land, that which has somehow escaped development but is in the thick of developed areas. You see the sides and backs of buildings that are largely unseen and not kept up well either; you climb through thickets and creek run-offs; in general it has me feel like the girl who followed her kid brother places our mother would have greatly minded if she had known.
As a painter, I like the two horizontal sections of this portion of the building with a diagonal branch in the foreground.
