Wading
I think these birds are Oystercatchers (please feel free to advise if they are called something else). Filmed on the beach at Gruinard Bay in Wester Ross.
Its a beautiful wee beach on the mainland of Wester Ross, Scotland. There is an island which sits about a mile or so offshore - Gruinard Island. It has a dark and unenviable history as being Britain's Anthrax island. The Defence Ministry used it quite a long time ago in the days of the Cold War for Anthrax experiments. It is understood to be clean now (the Defence Ministry having been forced to clean it up). But I do not think it is inhabited even today.
Looking at the island still sends a deep chill down the spine. Would have posted a photo of it but preferred the life and optimism of the sea birds on a bitterly cold day.
