Zig-zag
Not entirely sure why this track had to zig, then zag. Isn't it like that with some people?
The two big dogs arrived today, they're staying for a week; just in time for walks in the frigid air with what's now become a chest cold.
I went to a part of the woods this afternoon where I hadn't been since Casey the dog died, expecting it to look a certain way. It appears to have been bulldozed for the ski loppet trail earlier this year; a favorite, steep, winding path obliterated and with it, the wild lilies that would have come up on the hillside in another month or so. The dozens of natural steps, created by the thick, gnarled roots of the trees clinging to the hillside, also probably gone.
Just a small thing but....@#!t.
