nor not....

Like many foreigners I can not vote todayin the "elections cantonales". These are the semi-local elections, equivalent to the county council. It is an election which still feels very local as our Maire, of our little village, is standing against some other guy who is up to be re-elected.

I went down anyway to soak up the atmosphere, it is all a bit tense. The count in the village is at 18h and then 19h30 at Henrichemont. Local government here is still very strong, the Maire (in rural France) can still make a big difference in our little communities.

I'm off for the count.....
