Blossom

Spent a glorious couple of hours wandering around the Botanics in the spring sunshine. Was overjoyed to discover that my favourite cherry tree at the East Gate was in full, awe-inspiring blossom. It really is just a perfect specimen.

I love it because you can stand underneath it and feel you are completely enclosed by the heaving boughs of delicate flowers - overwhelmed by scent. It's much better large.

This was also a contender today - the stunning pink magnolia in bud, but I decided I'd wait and come back when it flowers in a week or so and shoot it again!
