Census

I've just filled out the 2011 census online, so this paper form is redundant.

In a way I'm glad you can fill in the form online, it's so much easier as the questions just pop up & you've not got to worry about missing out anything or filling in something you shouldn't. But, it?s quite sad to think the technology is taking away the 'human' part of genealogy.

My mum's eldest sister has been tracing our family tree for as long as I can remember. When I was at college in Worcester, I spent many a Wednesday afternoon looking through microfiche records at County Hall when Auntie Marion had sent me lists to check. The handwriting may have been a pig to read, but it was a real connection with my ancestors. Now the records will probably all be digitised, I wonder if our ancestors will miss the personal touch.
