Craaaaazy crazy busy day today.

I was up before 7 and on the train home before 8.30. Back in Bracknell by 10.15, dashed around town with my mum buying canvases and ingredients. Home, made 2 sponge cakes and a dessert, ate lunch, then Pose arrived, we iced the cakes and drove back to Winch. Tidied the house here, gathered as many chairs as possible and awaited the oncoming tide of cake-bearing visitors.

For G's birthday, we had a 'Come Dine With Me' style dessert party. Piero made the most epic vegetarian lasagne I've ever tasted (and enough of it for 15 people, too), then we got down to judging.

We had to sample some of each of the following: carrot cake, 3 chocolate cakes, banana cake, chocolate fondue pots, rhubarb crumble, cornflake cakes, chinese pancake things I'm not even going to attempt to spell, marzipan and rhubarb pie, coffee cake and my own (WINNING) attempt, Tiramicheesecake.

Oh yes. I won something that involves cooking.
Best day ever.
