A Locket

Amongst my mother's things, after she died, I found this locket. It has carefully cut out photos of my sister, her husband and me as a baby.

My mother was keen on photos and photograph albums. She was also keen on cutting up photos to use in different ways.

As well as being moved by this object, these particular photos and my mother's motivation in keeping them, I am struck by the role of still images in our lives, by the role blipfoto plays in that and by what might constitute a lasting image.
