This day

By snapper

Aar aar me hearties!

Strange the sights you seen when youve no got a gun!
Had to go to Oban today in among the ankle snappers as tomorrow is their drama day and I needed to check all was ok.
Recently I have had occession to drive the road to Dalavich (opposite side of Loch Awe), then the next day to Achnamara, the following day to Tayvallich and today to Oban. When I say drive the road, I am of course speaking figurativley! because these things I was forced to attempt to drive on can hardly be classed as roads! they are more like cart tracks with rutts deep enough that would look at home in a ploughed field!
What in Gods name are those who profess to be councellors and their managers on their huge salaries doing with our money because they certainly arnt putting it on the bloody roads! These roads lead to a myriad of villages usually with a retired population who become prisoners in their own villages because they are too frightned to negotiate the torturous rutted potholed dirt tracks, in fact the tracks used by the Forrestry Commission are far superior than these rumble strips!

As for forking out Road Tax! phut! that all goes to the English Treasurey and comes back here in dribs and drabs ad hoc and what about the price of fuel? small wonder one of the islands I was on recently had folks smuggling fuel in all manner of containers as its cheaper than what it is at their own pumps!

As for the penny off fuel duty!! wake up! its off the duty not the price at the pumps! Im going to get me a scooter and be dammed!with a sidecar for the dogs!

Mutter mutter!!!

Have a good day all
