Oh, happy day!

My tickets to see Elton John came in today! Yup, I'm goin' to see Sir Elton in April!

This is a definite once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me. My little town isn't quite big enough to get good concerts all the time. It's a three hour drive to Kansas City or St. Louis, and most good shows up there are very pricey. Well, you can imagine my surprise when this particular show was announced for our city! Then, when I found out tickets were actually affordable (read: not over $100 a pop), I knew there was no way I was NOT going to this show!

Of course, the computer system for selling the tickets crashed, but thanks to my wonderful, patient son - who was good enough to sit on the website for two hours! - we got through and I am actually going to go! And despite the computer crashing, the show sold out by early afternoon - I'd say in about four hours.

And who am I taking? That would be the person who first put on "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" and told me about the classical piano training Sir Elton received. That would be my mom.
