CASPIAN DIVE
The targeted species today was the Caspian Tern. I love to see them hit the water (like a Gannet) and bring up a fish which defies the birds size !! They hit the water with a tremendous force - poor fish !
There are flock of 16 (CT's) roosting on the new islands created by the EQ - along Humphries Drive.
For birders - its best to get them just on the high tide along this Drive - you'll find them working close in at this time. The timing today was around 3pm.
It was a very good day a bit bright for the whites in the bird as this is inclined to create burnout. Any way - It would be good to be able to put up a series of the dive but sorry dont have time to create such a montage - they will have to go in the next AV.
