The Admiral of the Sea

Grant Hart plays live at Yasta in Madrid. He´s one of my musical heroes, for his groundbreaking work with Husker Du, Nova Mob and his excellent solo records - while I think his output has been far superior, the success of his former bandmate Bob Mould has eluded him. Maybe it´s the pigtails, or the fact that he always plays unaccompanied these days. But his near two-hour set was full of jewels - all killer, no filler. If I had to name my top ten albums of all time, he would have two in there - Husker Du´s Zen Arcade and Nova Mob´s Last Days of Pompeii. He played a bunch of songs from both so it was well worth the trip to Spain (Madrid is a fantastic place, so it would have been worth it regardless).
