Punniken/Spoolknitting

Anyone who's brought up in the 1950's (or before!) will remember spoolknitting by using Mum's old wooden cotton bobbin with four panel pin in the top, to make
yards & yards of cord from odd ends of wool.

Saw these in a window (a collection I think) and was wondering;
