I couldn't see anything today
I started my day with a barefoot encounter with a small pile of kitchen floor 'stuff'. Carefully swept up last night and left just beside the bin ready for me to step in this morning. Crumbs, dusty bits, sticky matter and other morsels of unidentifiable crap. A blue print for yesterday stuck to the sole of my barefoot.
I don't mean to labour the account of what probably seems like a less than significant occurrence, but you know, this set the pace for the rest of my day. The pile of stuff made me start and flinch pathetically, a split second of horrified recoil at the prospect of what may be under foot. I have previously: (a) stood on a mouse (under a rug) (b) stood on a daddy long legs (again, barefoot) (c) snails (plenty of them - crunch then slide) and other things. It upsets me.
Perhaps I overreacted.
But it is Tuesday and that's a big enough hurdle, never mind the additional burden of a worrying, nauseating start to the day. Ok, I shall stop now. Because, as you can see, soon enough my fortune changed.... Well, I say soon enough, but actually I had to wait at least another ten hours before returning home and discovering this beautiful little message right outside my stair door. How nice that there are so many guardian angel types out there, willing to help during times of austerity.
Just one thing, how does a money shop work?
