Oh dear ... damp!

Not what we were hoping to find, but I guess building work is never straighforward. The builders uncovered damp joists when they took down the rear kitchen and dining room walls to open the rooms into the new extension. We couldn't even see the cavities as they were so full of rubble/dust etc that it's not surprising the damp crossed and rotted the joists. Lets hope it's easy to resolve.

Looking forward to the works being finished soon, can't wait for the house to get back to normal. I know just how 'daily post' feels, with everything from the ground floor being shifted upstairs - aagghhhh!
