Goodbye Granny
Down in Weymouth today for Granny's funeral. So many happier memories of the place. Still, Granny would have been pleased with today: the family all here. We had the short service at the crematorium first and then we went to her church for a thanksgiving service. I did a reading and was pleased that I was able to do it. One of my cousins write a poem with all if the grandchildren's memories. It was lovely and got some laughs some of which I'm sure were coming from Granny. The biggest laugh was for the long days spent at the beach hut, eyes on the horizon looking for the 3 o'clock boat to come in: that meant it was ice-cream time :)
An amazing woman who stubbornly refused to let her age stop her. If I reach 94 like her I think I'll be happy!!
Thank you, Granny. xxx
