Never forget the golden rule: Walk in the exact opposite direction of the beach/tourists/noise/crowds/bollocks and magical things will happen almost immediately.

Today this rule led me to a quiet Mexican neighbourhood that included a giant dog strolling casually down the centre of the road, a house with the virgin Mary painted on the front of it, and a man with a bucket on his head walking a horse through town.

Incidentally, upon following said man to a river, he led the horse to water but couldn't make it drink.
