Study Time Still Life II

This was really the first productive thing I did today, then I stopped to take a picture of it.

I have been trying to get a better grasp on the technical elements of photography lately, so I tried this with both a narrower (f/3.5) and wider (f/9.5) depth of field and I like the wider better. Interesting, as I used to rarely shoot above f/5.6.

Unlike the first study still life, I chose to keep this one in color. I think I like it better. Please share your opinions!
