Famagusta

This café in Ealing has lain empty for many years. It seems to have closed down with a view to being refurbished as there is timber, wood glue and carpentry tools all over the tables and floor. Somehow, over the years, the many geraniums in plant pots have thrived inside the café. It's very old school as you can see from the bench seat.

Its sixties feel and the fact that it was just left suddenly reminds me of Famagusta, where the inhabitants fled from the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974. It still lies empty with rusting cars, with their doors open, gathering dust in the streets.
