Spring
Today we skied way out in the Pays Desert with great views down into the Maurienne valley, and then wide in Col Pers.
With the warm temperatures the snow is transforming and melting very quickly. There's a little powder on north aspects, and a variety of spring - from grabby crust to bullet proof supportive - on others.
From the Pont St. Charles to Fornet the tarmac on the road (the D902 that goes up to the Col de l'Iseran) is becoming exposed - first time I've seen that. Soon it will be a long walk down from the bridge.
The weather came in again this afternoon and at 5pm it was snowing high up and pouring in the town. But the forecast over the next few days is for record high temperatures: 20 degrees at 1000m. Gulp.
