Saddle Up!

When I think about Calgary there are two things that spring to mind.

1. Oil & Gas

This is what drives the economy and has lead to the construction of many of the buildings in ths picture.

2. The Calgary Stampede

"The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth" Even the arena is shaped like a saddle ... the Saddledome. Home to the NHL's Calgary Flames, who according to sportsclubstats.com have a 99.3% chance of going golfing instead of making the playoffs this year! :(

This is Downtown Calgary as seen from the SE ... wihtout the benefit of the morning sunlight that I enjoyed yesterday.
