No fooling......
Although I won't turn 65 for about three weeks, the US government has, in its wisdom, granted me a degree of subsidized medical care beginning today. With the general state of both US and the global economy, hope this isn't their idea of an April 1st joke!
I've worked pretty much since I was 17 with only the occasional short break, and to have a baby and be a full-time mom for a couple of years. I've always paid faithfully into Social Security. My various jobs were never high earners, but I loved my career as a professional librarian. I don't feel at all entitled to this 'geriatric bonus' but am certainly very grateful to have it now!
After yesterday's storms, feel a bit like Noah!!! The last of the torrents poured down well after bed-time. It promises to be a sunny day, however, and we had a gorgeous sunrise. It was tempting to blip it, but the Medicare Card (with SSN and last name blocked out for obvious reasons) seemed pertinent somehow........
Many thanks for all your comments yesterday and always. I value this community greatly, and with humble appreciation!
