Narvik
A much welcome day of rest in Narvik and the first day of their Winter festival week. This is a festival dedicated to all of those who took part in the construction of the iron-ore railway and allies during the second world war. It is a week filled with culture of all kinds, turning Narvik town centre completely upside down. Narvik turns back time to the beginning of the 19th century, and young and old dress up in the attire of the age. Today's photo is of a children's / family procession through the streets.
As part of the Winter festival week our hotel had a cake buffet. £10 and you can have as much coffee and cake as you like - we partook! - some more than others - Kathy!
