Rotten Canola

Today Ken did the dirty deed of cleaning up rotten canola in the bin. He discovered it in the middle of winter, but has been waiting for some warmer days to do the task of cleaning it up. He borrowed our neighbors grain vac and spent a good chunk of the day in the bin - he vacuumed up 2 1/2 tandem truck loads of the rotten stuff! Dale was the out of bin helper, monitoring things with the truck and vac. You can see him up at the top of the bin, asking Ken if he wanted to stop for some lunch. Each time Ken came out of the bin, he pulled himself out with a rope that he had hung from the hole, so needless to say, he didn't want to go in and out too many times. He was pretty tired by the end of the day. Good to get that part of the job done. He still needs to empty the trucks, but that's for another day.
