"Life is a Rollercoaster." Yes, I have just quoted Ronan Keating, but don't hold it against me! ;-)
This week has had significant highs and lows and it has struck me repeatedly in the last few days how you can plummet from a pretty cheery state of mind to one of profound despair, sadness or anger. It then sometimes seems such a slog, hauling yourself back to a place where all feels right in the world, shrugging off feelings and spoken words, putting them to one side, boxing them up, either never to be let out again, or to be kept for later examination and reflection.
Of course, it can all work in reverse: being met by C off the train when I was decidedly crumpled and just a little worse for wear; the unexpected opportunity to pick the kids up from school (see yesterday's blip). These are the little events that put you metaphorically back on top of the world.
I found myself gazing this evening at the Mathmos Brick - lost in its glow. Arguably I should have been heading bedwards, but couldn't drag myself away, probably due to lack of sleep in fairness :-/. Anyway, I did the only decent thing and blipped it!
