Old becomes new
The building on the left was once part of Abereen University, and is called The Marischal College. It is the second largest granite building in the world; the other being a palace outside Madrid. It was opened in 1903, to much celebration and parades. It has been lying practically empty for several years now as the Uni does not have a city centr campus any more.
The hideous structure in the middle was erected in the 60's (can't you tell?) and is the current Headquarters and offices of the city council. The H.Q. shall soon be moving across the road and into the newly refurbished Marischal College, and hopefully soon after that the ugly building St Nicholas House shall be demolished.
The building on the right is apartments, apart from the bottom floor, which is an empty storea and a Starbucks. The whole building was once the domain of Aberdeen University Students Union.
