Shepherd's Purse

A little plant which always fascinated me as a child because my mother had shown me that if you split the seed pods they are like little purses full of money. I thought they were fairy purses, not shepherd's!

It looks so insignificant and raggedy as you walk past it but is very pretty when you look at it properly. I love the way the heart shaped seed pods (purses) frame the flower.
