A day on the lake

We go to go out in our canoe today, we just did a short trip this afternoon on lake Coniston, we paddled over to the swallows and amazons island for hot chocolate and treats then back again, the children did really well both had a go at paddling, but until we get round to getting them some smaller paddles it's a bit tricky for them. they loved exploring the island and while we were there several other families popped by and a couple of sailing craft too.
We also got to see the steam Gondola that's based on Coniston, it's beautiful, looking inside really does take you back to Victorian times it's been perfectly restored. It was first launched 1859 and really and truly does look like the way to travel.
