Parting
Driving back from a night away through the Oxfordshire countryside, I really could not resist stopping for this one. The silhouette is of the Lechlade Church.
The weather had been building and building throughout the journey and I was expecting to hit torrential rain at any moment. It had felt even more oppressive because the weather was mirroring my mood and, although I wanted to get back to my children, I really did not want to leave my friend behind. It always feels like this when I leave. The slightly sick feeling you get when you know you have to leave soon that taints the last few hours and makes then rush by even faster. How I hate the leaving.
But, contrary to my fears, the heavens did not open, instead, the clouds parted and the sun blazed through producing the most beautiful sunset.
I am sending you this sunset, my beautiful friend, hoping that the clouds will part soon and the sun will shine through again.
