California Poppy

I love the intensity of the orange in a California Poppy. Amazingly enough they do grow in New Mexico next to roadsides. I think they are close to my favorite flower. I can never get enough of the intense orange, especially when it swathes the hillsides in orange, but even a quick peak at a single plant along a roadside is wonderful.
