Purple clematis
Very little chance to get out and about with my camera today. Lunchtime was eaten up taking number two son to the orthodontist for his last appointment.
This photo was a bit of an accident. I don't think the flash worked very well but it has created a nice image that shows off the irridescent purple/blue of these flowers. The lip of the petal is in focus and seems to show the flower opening up.
This clematis flowers at least twice every year and has survived just about everything. It scrambles over our front garden fence. I think it might be a Clematis macropetala variety.
Had a long chat with son number one tonight - one essay down, another to go and then he will be heading home for the Easter holidays. Sounds like he's had a very stressful couple of weeks. Looking forward to having him home (even though I'll be away for his first few days back).
