Meet Dave.

He's familiar, like the mate you share a beer with in the pub and straight away get on fine with. But Dave has other sides to his personality. On the one hand, he's familiar, easy to get going with and won't overly challenge you. On the other hand, he has a whole life outside of the comfortable beer in the evening one you know. The unknown feels slightly out of reach, and very unfamiliar.

You know he's capable and confident, but just haven't been able to fully understand the depths of his talents. You'll just have to get to know him better to fully appreciate him.
