The Red-Winged

The red-winged blackbird & I have been on a merry chase this spring. I have been trying to get a decent photo of it since mid February. (That's when it showed up here) It is the most skittish bird I have ever seen. I finally have just resorted to taking photos through the windows. As soon as it sees me, off it flies.

I do like the red-winged blackbirds. It's a rather common bird, but sometimes I think it's not as common as it once was. They have always reminded me of summertime. I do think they are a bit more nicer than the starlings & grackles.. maybe they just have better manners. :)

(It's not the greatest photo at all, but honestly I thought this may be the best I can do for now)
