First hot cross buns of the year

Last week, I spent a wonderful few days in Bath including a baking course at the Bertinet Kitchen.

I was keen to see whether I could remember the new kneading technique I was taught and thought hot cross buns would be the ideal thing to try.

So here they are. I am very pleased with them! The mixture made 13 - so the baker decided she just had to try one ..

NB I never bother putting crosses on them for home use!
