Gas works

About 2 o'clock this afternoon there was a great thud from what seemed like our basement. Investigation in the basement didn't reveal any immediate cause so the search moved outside. In the next block there were fire trucks and gas company crews. It appears there was a leak which had resulted in a small gas explosion. After waiting to be sure I wouldn't be blown to smithereens I grabbed my camera and went over to to take this picture. The building in the background is the Aga Khan Foundation and the wall to the left belongs to the Saudi Embassy.

This was enough excitement for me for one day.
