running commentary

The Lake District is sooooo last year dahling!

This was taken in the Pennines (yes we have them in Cumbria too)

My precious expensive toy of just one year ago nowadays gets held over mini torrents and in my hand as I balance on walls etc. I'd still hate to damage it but I feel I can be a bit more cavalier now it's a backup body to my backup body.

Trying out manual again today.

I deliberately over exposed by some margin as I knew the dark rock would take it and the foamy water would simply look more foamy.

What I was aiming to achieve for was for the trees at the top of the frame to be almost obliterated from the shot by the blown sky. I wanted the rigid structure of the vertical trunks to be diminished and for them to appear to be emerging from the background as if it were a thick mist. (a bit like the "ghosts" cybermen in that episode of Dr Who that featured dirty dens wife Chrissy as Yvonne) (Not be be confused with Alex Kingston who looks similar and is also in a few episodes of Dr Who and that good thing recently about the ghost of the little girl - Marchlands, that was it yes, Marchlands with Dolly from Dinnerladies. Or was it Jean? I never remember which was which though they were both in Corrie you know

I'm not sure if I achieved my intention as well I might have done - I'll admit to a little PP work in Aperture.

The answer to my quiz from Monday was Mirehouse and Dodd Wood on the A591 near Keswick, Cumbria.
