Five Bells Inn

N and I drove down to Devon to day to meet friends at the Five Bells Inn, Clyst Hydon near Cullompton. We arranged to pick up C nearby but got lost in a village and drove round in circles on all the back lanes into the centre. Every road we travelled down we met the same man with a flat cap, wax jacket walking a boxer dog - it became a nightmare! We saw him again and said let's turn round quickly! We did find the right house in the end although half an hour late and no doubt we shall see the man in our dreams tonight!

The Five Bells Inn is a 16C farmhouse and remained so until 100 years ago. There was an Inn with the same name near the church but the vicar of the day objected to it being so close to the church so it was moved to the said farmhouse.

Tess is so much better!
