Yellow-crowned Night Heron

I had never seen this bird before today. When my husband and I saw him we were not even sure what kind of bird he was. We've only lived in Florida a little over a year, both raised up North in Connecticut. We guessed though, that it was a Night Heron. I looked it up online and yes, confirmation! This beautiful bird was in the mangrove forest we walk by most days. A white Ibis had just flown by and at first we thought it was another . . . but oh no! We were in for a treat. Enjoy!
